Jim Patron, lifelong Canton resident, has been affiliated with funeral service since he was 15, starting out as a multi-talented young employee, for the neighborhood funeral home. He was a 1974 graduate of Lincoln High School, graduated from Kent State University,
and Kentucky College of Mortuary Science. Jim served as organist and choir director of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton, previously owned and operated three funeral homes in southern Ohio, currently owns and operates Hecker-Patron Funeral Home in Uniontown, and as of 2023, became the owner and operator of Lamiell Funeral Home. Jim chose funeral service, as he was fascinated by the business and felt as though it was a profession that reached out to people during a very difficult time in their lives. He truly felt the need to help others.
Jim is a WWE fan, enjoys music, and has a passion for Classic cars. Two of his favorites, the Cuda and GTO. Very much a hands-on guy, he enjoys remodeling projects and is very much a perfectionist with his work. Jim and his wife, Sue, who works as Office Administrator of both funeral homes, have five children and ten grandchildren. Together, they enjoy the simple pleasures of life; quiet evenings sitting outside in the summer months, sitting by the fire during the cooler evenings, time shared with family and friends, and spoiling their eight-year-old, German Shepherd, Jamie. Together, they believe the importance of God being the center of one’s life.
